With frontispiece 15 full-page plates and 7 folding genealogical charts at end. 1st edition. Inscription from Kenneth Whistler Street to Captain R.S. Godsall on front free endpaper. Previous owners name on front free endpaper. Very light toning on endpapers. Fine copy. NOTE: The original edition here offered is extremely scarce with a few copies produced for private family circulation only; a photo-facsimile issue was reproduced in 1988. Sir Kenneth Whistler Street had a successfull career in the army before becoming a judge of the Supreme Court on 7th October 1931. He created history being the 1st judge to sit as alongside his father. He served as Chief Justice from 1950 to 1960. Captain R.S. Godsall whom the book is iscribed to served with Whistler in WWI.
